Newtek Tricaster TC2-Elite

The NewTek TriCaster 2 Elite is a versatile production hub for creating professional live and recorded content in SD, HD, or UHD 4K. Ideal for a range of broadcasts like sports, talk shows, concerts, and worship services, it serves as a robust core for your broadcast setup.

This model surpasses its predecessors with features like various digital media aspect ratios/frame rates, LivePanel, NDI-KVM control, Live Call Connect (compatible with Teams, Zoom, Skype), Live Story Creator, unlimited NDI recording, and LiveGraphics with Adobe CC. It also supports low-latency SRT streaming and boasts integrated tools like LiveSet virtual sets, DataLink, genlock, tally, GPI, MIDI, and quality audio inputs.

It accommodates 32 simultaneous video sources of any resolution via NewTek’s NDI, offering flexibility in source connectivity. With 48 NDI outputs and the capability to record up to 32 channels, it ensures broad output and recording options.

The TriCaster 2 Elite comes in a 3 RU form factor, suitable for standard equipment racks. Additional control surfaces, monitors, and NDI video converters are available for enhanced functionality.

Ross Carbonite Solo

The Ross Video Carbonite Black Solo is a compact and versatile 1 M/E HD/SD live production video switcher, ideal for portable setups. It supports multi-format resolutions up to 1080p60 and features nine inputs (six SDI, three HDMI) and six outputs (five SDI, one HDMI).

Ease of use is a key feature, with full control accessible through its integrated control surface. This includes tactile buttons, a joystick, and a weighted T-bar for real-time switching, effects, overlays, and graphics. For added flexibility, remote control is available via DashBoard software compatible with Mac, Windows, or Linux.

The Solo's multiviewer output can display up to 10 sources, offering various layouts, tally, labeling, and a clock function. It supports robotic camera control for VISCA, Canon BU series, and Ross Cambot cameras. Advanced features similar to larger switchers include two floating effects channels for PiP or 2D transitions, assignable effects modules, four-channel animation storage with audio, a floating UltraChrome chroma keyer, and 10-bit processing for sophisticated keying and effects.

VMix Hardware / Software

vMix offers a versatile 4K Live Production, Streaming, and Mixing Software capable of handling multiple HD or 4K sources, with the extent depending on the computer’s capabilities, its GPU, and the video capture hardware. It allows streaming to the web via RTMP, RTSP, or Flash, and local recording in formats like AVI, MP4, MPEG-2, or WMV up to HD resolution. If available, it can also output a high-quality program feed for local display or separate recording.

Beyond basic switching, the software includes effects, chroma keying, titles, virtual sets, and templates for professional-grade production. Its instant replay feature captures memorable moments for later replay, with slow-motion effects up to 400%. The software features vMix Call, enabling up to four remote guests via web browsers or mobile devices, with support for NDI, return video/audio, encryption, selectable outputs, and audio mixing.

The integrated audio mixer eliminates the need for external hardware, supporting various audio sources including embedded, capture device inputs, external interfaces, or pre-recorded files.

vMix runs on Windows and is compatible with a range of video capture and I/O devices from brands like Blackmagic Design, Matrox, AJA, and others.
